AUTHOR'S NOTE

This story takes place before the events that ultimately tear the seven apart—before Yoongi's expulsion, before Seokjin's actions are revealed, and before their youth begins slipping through their fingers.

The longer I spend with HYYH, the more deeply I understand what makes its story so painful to me. Youth is never coming back. It's such a simple idea, yet it sits at the heart of everything.

I'm currently living through what feels like my own HYYH era, and sometimes the parallels between growing up myself and the emotions portrayed in this story feel almost startling. Maybe that's why I've become so attached to it. HYYH isn't only about tragedy; it's about those brief, ordinary moments that don't feel important until they're already memories.

I'll always be grateful that I got to experience this story at a time in my life when I could understand that feeling for myself.
