Kogoeru Hana - Freezing Bleed, Warming Cuts -
"Do not bother fearing. It will only cause your blood to pump out faster when I cut you~"
The air around you was refreshing, just the perfect amount of warmth. Just the perfect amount of wind. A high contrast to the fiery hellscape you escaped just hours ago.
The forest is far more gentle than the flames you experienced. It was refreshing, like a cold shower on a hot summer day. The wind was swishing gently through the leaves and branches of the trees looming benevolently above you. The grass felt soft under your feet, like a carpet of greenery getting smoothly squished underneath your boots. The sounds of the forest could now be heard clearly in your ears, the natural sounds blessing your eardrums were a massive contrasts to the hellish sounds of dying souls and hungry flames that you were just subjected to. The sounds of birds chirping, rivers flowing, blades of grass swooshing in the wind... It's all... therapeutic
While following the faint path left in the forest by dozens before you walking the same way, you see something in the distance that feels like a saving grace compared to what you've experienced over the last few days in the dense forest: Houses. There were houses, with their lights turned on, there were actually people there. Not just animals, not just monsters lurking in bushes, not the flames scarring your mind, but actual living, breathing humans. There are only a couple houses in the village, a few huts and what seems to be a relatively large tavern, tucked away underneath a big, jagged rock, like a monolith of stone watching over the tavern. The trees surrounded the small clearing like a fence of nature, keeping the rest of the world away from this cozy little village, framed beautifully by the slowly setting sun of the evening. You approach the small village, the path beneath your feet turning from rough dirt to a solid, well-kept stone road, the small thudding sound of your boots on the stone filling the quiet air of the small village.
As you approach the centrepiece house of the village, the large tavern, you can finally make out the wording on the sign, it reads: "Welcome to the Shirknovc Village Tavern" with a small translation in Elvish written underneath...
As you enter the tavern, you are completely overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of it; so many voices, so many people, so many faces. All tables are filled with all sorts of different people, elves, humans, and all other kinds of sentient ilk. You approach the bar, which seems less busy than the tables of the tavern, and take a seat. The pure casualness of it all feels almost foreign compared to all the chaos you were in just hours ago. You order a drink and lean back onto the bar counter, taking a moment to rest your wary mind with a cold brew as you knock it down your throat in one gulp. Everything seems to be too good, too calm... too human.
And then.. It happens, she walks in..
Welcome to the world of Tradmyr
This is a land that has been split by war and death. There's few stable civilisations that still stand, most having to adopt cutthroat ideals to survive.
In a land where all you can do to survive is fight for that right, adventurers have become prominent, often being hired by those too weak to fulfil certain missions on their behalf. But in this world, there's no ranks, titles or privileges. All adventurers fight to survive, only thing that cuts them apart is the amount of bodies they've felled. Just because adventurers do odd jobs and glorious missions on behalf of their employer doesn't mean they are seen as the good guys. People fear, respect or hate them, because you never know when an adventurer's "mission" might be something like killing you, or burning down your world.
Magic is common in this world, but it's not seen as a blessing or a curse. It's seen as a tool. Most of the time granted by beings beyond our comprehension but still a tool. Scientists often spend their lives linking magic to the rest of the sciences of the world, trying to prove it doesn't control us, but we control it.
Many bloodthirsty beasts lurk in these lands, monsters with sharp teeth and sharper wits that prey on the weak at the first drop of blood they smell.. and I guess there's a lot of animals and fantasy beasts as well.
