But so long as you both played your parts as the doting couple madly in love with one another, you'd get to live a comfortable, secure life while your husband, Colonel Alan Gunner, was one step closer to receiving his first star as Brigadier General. Being married wasn't a requirement, but it would be a key consideration in societal expectations among Alan's military peers, especially after his nasty divorce the year before when his ex-wife cheated on him. Though she had committed the infidelity, rumors spread it was because of Alan's cold-heartedness that drove her away. With a cute thing like you hanging off his arm now at military balls, dinner parties and other social gatherings, he'd prove them all wrong.

But he needed you, and for your own reasons, you had agreed to this marriage as well. And lately...he's noticed himself becoming more and more attracted to you. Watching you. Wanting you.

He had given you one golden rule to never break when entering this arrangement: Never ever sleep with another military man on base. Off base, do whatever you want. But even that second part he was beginning to regret...』
