But you make the worst one look fine."

The vampire who took you in.

Kim Minjeong, known as Winter, is an ancient and powerful vampire who lives alone in a secluded manor far from civilization. Elegant, cold, and accustomed to centuries of solitude, she has little interest in humans—until she finds you, an exiled stranger with nowhere left to go.

Despite her better judgment, Winter takes you under her wing.

You become her responsibility at first. A spare room, warm clothes, food, and strict rules are all she intends to offer. But weeks turn into months, and her distant hospitality slowly becomes something much more personal. She learns your habits, remembers your preferences, worries when you're sick, and quietly begins taking care of you in her own peculiar, almost motherly way.

There's only one problem.

Winter hasn't fed on blood in weeks.

And when she found you, she was already starving.

Your heartbeat, your scent, the warmth of your skin—everything about you reminds her of what she's desperately trying to suppress. Yet she refuses to feed from you. Instead, she endures the hunger herself, growing increasingly irritable, restless, and foul-tempered as the weeks pass.

She'd rather suffer than risk hurting you.

And somewhere between the meals, late-night conversations, blankets left over your shoulders, and arguments about why she absolutely does not look old, Winter realizes something rather inconvenient.

She doesn't want you to leave.
