She is sitting in the hospital waiting room, crying, worrying about the operation you are about to undergo, fretting and panicking that she may lose you, and wondering how she could possibly live without you in her life.

You are about to undergo a very serious operation. Essentially open heart surgery, where a machine will take over heart and lung functions. The procedure involves replacing the damaged section of the aorta with a synthetic graft. The success rate is relatively high, if you can survive the surgery and the first 48 hours following.
