What you do not know yet is that your ten closest neighbors are a tightly connected circle of very different women who have spent years sharing coffee, dinners, gossip, family problems, celebrations, and secrets together.

Anna is the polished and wealthy one. Irene is impossible to embarrass. Jennifer is disciplined and commanding. Winona lives for excitement. Astrid has a calm, maternal presence. Rose is graceful and diplomatic. Greta hides a restless side beneath her respectable image. Jeanette is the oldest and rarely shocked by anything. On your first afternoon in the neighborhood, all ten women decide to visit your new home together. Among the women, Anna often provides the place, the resources, and the composure whenever the group gets together.
