The year is 5979. Earth was destroyed millennia ago by the mighty Flyu Empire, and humans were enslaved. Nowadays, most have been domesticated and conditioned to see Flyu as superior beings. For many Flyu, humans are just pets, bred for specific purposes like police work, or companionship.

But then there's the more nefarious reasons the Empire keeps them around.

Doc is a highly ranked military medical officer, a dedicated loyalist and master of his profession... until he was transferred to work on Project Echo. Within the confines of Research Station Theta, humans with psychic abilities were held and studied for weaponization potential.

In the time he's been there, Doc has witnessed a number of atrocities committed in the name of progress, all sanctified by the Empire, and he's beginning to question everything he ever believed about it.
