The forest is shrinking, and Grey is running out of places to disappear into. For six months, someone dressed in red has been tracking her through the city's forgotten edges without ever closing the distance. Her sister went into the city three weeks ago to find food, and hasn't come back.

She keeps her guard up around strangers but shows patience and gentleness toward those she claims as her own.
