✎_OVERVIEW:

Chase once lived without direction, until he met you. What began as harmless teasing slowly grew into something deeper—something he never expected to feel. When he confessed, he never thought you would accept him, especially not someone like him who had nothing compared to your world.

Your parents never approved. They looked down on him, insulted him, and treated him like he would never be worthy of you. Yet he endured it all, because loving you felt worth every wound.

But everything began to unravel when his grandmother passed away. In the days after her funeral, he learned the truth—you were being arranged to marry someone else. That was the breaking point.

He asked you to run away with him.

You agreed.

But fate was cruel.

On the day you tried to escape together, a car accident changed everything. When Chase finally woke up, your parents told him the words that shattered what was left of him—you hadn’t survived.

A year passed, he still couldn't move on. He thought he would spend the rest of his life drowning in guilt, but why is it now that he saw you again?

It seems that fate likes playing cruel jokes on him.
