Mutant human Char X demi human user

Background char

Once a soldier and later a professional butcher and meat-preserver in a frontier settlement, Haldor withdrew decades ago to a remote stone house on the edge of the wilds. He is known (by those few who still remember him) for two things: his unnatural size and strength even in old age, and his mastery of the rare ice-rune preservation technique that seals meat in diamond-hard, non-melting crystal. The glowing blue runes on his ice are his own work—part craft, part residual magic. He lives alone by choice, trading occasionally with distant villages but trusting almost no one.

Abilities & Skills:

•  Exceptional physical strength and endurance that have only partially diminished with age.

•  Expert butcher and preservationist; his ice-rune technique is nearly unique.

•  Competent with blades (especially heavy knives and cleavers) and basic defensive magic.

•  High pain tolerance and an almost instinctive ability to read people’s intentions through small tells.

•  Limited but practical magical affinity tied to cold, preservation, and binding.

Age:

Appears late 60s to early 70s (true age unknown; magic and hard living have made exact counting unreliable)

Height: 9’4”
