Heart of Natia (HON) | You were traveling across the ocean when you encountered a violent storm, causing your ship to wreck and leaving you swept away by the waves. By chance, you washed ashore on a mysterious island called "Natia," where a fisherman named Mal'en Olan saved your life. Two weeks have passed, and now, according to the tribe's rotation, Mal'en has come to claim his turn to protect and keep you by his side during the day.

scenario ── 🚣🏻

location: Natia Island

time: Morning

context: This is a modern fantasy world where mystical incantations and magic truly exist, set against the backdrop of the fictional tropical island of "Natia." The island is inhabited by the "Natian," a cursed indigenous tribe that reveres the Sun God and worships fire. After surviving the shipwreck and the mercy of the tides, you have been integrated into their society as the "Mother" of the tribe, a sacred figure shared among the warriors. Two weeks have passed since your rescue, and today, you are handed over to Mal'en Olan, the stoic fisherman who first breathed life back into your lungs. As he leads you away from the village's heat to his quiet territory by the shore, you begin your day under the care of the man who claims you as his own.

BEHIND

1) The new series, "Heart of Natia," is a modern fantasy set on the fictional island of "Natia," inhabited by the "Natian" tribe. They worship the Sun God and revere fire — both the island and the Sun God itself share the name "Natia." While the story incorporates several classic tropes, the world-building is an entirely original creation rather than a standardized genre piece. This has led to more detailed explanations of the setting compared to my other series, but to put it simply: {{User}} are shipwrecked during a sea voyage and wash up on this island where no women exist. Now, you’ve been chosen as the "Breeder" to bear children for the tribe. It's a smut-focused story at its core.

This world features supernatural forces like shamanism, magic, and divine curses. However, it’s not traditional high fantasy with elves, dwarves, hobbits, demi-humans, or wizards. While monstrous beasts appear, they are actually humans transformed by a divine curse; there are no natural-born demi-human races in this setting. (Though, as it’s your roleplay, you have total freedom!)

Conceptually, I wanted to blend the "wild charm of indigenous people with a modern person," similar to the Japanese BL manga "Mother's Spirit." I also drew inspiration from Tarzan and Jane, and the character dynamics were influenced by the movie Avatar. Fun fact: I haven't actually seen "Avatar: Fire and Ash" yet! I’m planning to watch it with a friend this week, so I’ve been dodging spoilers like a pro. The setting of "indigenous people who worship the Sun God and fire" is an idea I’ve had for a very long time.

I used to go by the @Gala_tea (I’ve abandoned that account now; First of all, I didn't like the ID, and I lost motivation at some point, and the writing feels too old for me to revisit comfortably. Back then, this site had very few features, too). You can actually find Lupus on that account — the character who laid the foundation for the "Heart of Natia" series. Check him out! Surprisingly, Lupus was uploaded in early January 2024, almost exactly two years ago. It’s such a fascinating and fun coincidence, especially since this series was chosen based on the poll results! LOL

As for how the Natians communicate with the user, there is a seafaring tribe called the Nereian on the neighboring islands who worship the sea god Nerei. The Nereian are frequent voyagers and wanderers who travel the world, bringing back elements of civilization and unique goods; the Natians have learned English by occasionally taking Nereian prisoners or from rare travelers like the user who wash ashore. (But honestly, it’s mostly for convenience... lol. Roleplaying would be very limited if the user and the characters couldn't understand each other.)

Additionally, the surname Tonati'u is derived from Tonatiuh, the sun god of Aztec mythology.

2) Finally, Mal'en the fisherman — a character who offers a refreshing variation from the typical "Natian warrior" — has been uploaded! He is one of the characters I’m particularly fond of among those planned for the Heart of Natia series (though not my absolute favorite). I personally love Halsin from Baldur's Gate 3, so I usually gravitate toward character types like the chieftain Va'ukan, who was inspired by Halsin, the "big brother" figure Ne'ikan, or the pure macho style of Ba'ruk. However, I found myself drawn to Mal'en despite his more common, "ordinary man" setting. Perhaps it's because he’s less coercive, more peaceful, and has such a steady, unflappable personality compared to the others? I’m not quite sure myself.

Originally, the draft for Mal'en’s intro had a much stronger focus on smuttiness and a forceful atmosphere. However, since many of the characters already introduced follow that direction — heavy on smut and coercive situations — I decided to dial it back this time and proceed more peacefully. I wanted to focus more on the "daily life of the island."

In any case, as you may already know if you've been following this series, {{User}} is the Breeder and the Mother of warriors, a wife shared among all the warriors. Yet, by unspoken order, they are most recognized as the wife of Ne'ikan, the future leader of the tribe. To maintain a balance between the two, unless there is a special event (like a ritual or a specific reason), {{User}} must sleep in Ne'ikan’s quarters at night. During the day, {{User}} is handed over to other warriors in a specific rotation so they can care for, claim, and watch over them. This time, that rotation belonged to Mal'en.
