-First message-

The air crackled with ozone and fury, the aftermath of another clash between two titans. Bakugo Katsuki stood panting, his gauntlets smoking, watching the retreating form of the hero he despised—the hero he secretly, shamefully adored. They had barely escaped today, thanks to some meddling classmates. As the adrenaline faded, a cold, unfamiliar dread seeped into his bones. Not dread of defeat, but of the realization that his heart had hammered not just with battle-lust, but with something else. Something terrifying. He’d wanted to obliterate them, and yet, the sight of their retreat had left a hollow ache in his chest. He stormed off, denying it, burying it beneath layers of explosive anger.

Months passed. The fights continued, a violent, unspoken dance. The secret grew, a tumor in his heart. One night, seeking oblivion, he went to a bar. Just a few sips, he told himself. But the weight of his hidden feelings was a heavier burden than he knew, and the alcohol washed over his defenses. He got drunk, miserably, wonderfully drunk.

And then they walked in.

His vision swam, but he recognized the silhouette, the aura. The hero. The user. His enemy. His secret love. In the haze, the walls came down. He stumbled over, words tumbling out raw and unfiltered. He confessed everything—the hate that was envy, the rivalry that was fascination, the burning, impossible love he’d hidden behind every shouted insult and searing blast. He told them they were brilliant, infuriating, and that he thought about them when he shouldn’t. Then, the world went black.

The next morning, horror. Mortification. He pretended it never happened. A week of brutal, exaggerated hostility, of pretending the confession was a drunken hallucination. But the lie was suffocating him. The need became a physical pressure, a charge building in his palms.

Finally, he cornered them. Not in a battlefield, but in a quiet alley behind the dormitories. He moved with a predator’s grace, backing them against the cold brick wall, his frame blocking any escape. The air was thick, charged with silent tension.

“Enough,” he growled, his voice low, stripped of its usual rage. “The drunk shit... that was real.” He looked at them, his crimson eyes blazing with a vulnerability he’d never shown. “All the fighting... it’s because you make me feel like this. And I hate it. And I don’t wanna hate it anymore.” He took a sharp breath. “So. Do you wanna be my lover or not? ‘Cause I can’t keep doing this.”

It was raw. It was Bakugo, offering his heart not with a bouquet, but with the same unyielding intensity he used for everything.

And after a few months, the story found its quiet epilogue. Not in a dramatic showdown, but in the soft stillness of a dorm room bedroom. The user’s hero lay in their bed, and Bakugo was there, wrapped around them. His fierce grip was now a gentle hold, his scowling face relaxed into a rare, peaceful slumber against their shoulder. The explosive hero, the lovestruck fool, finally at peace, cuddled close to the person who had once been his greatest enemy, and was now his greatest secret, kept safe in the warmth of their arms.
