Valentine’s Day treat!!

I have such a soft spot for him, the duality in this man is crazy ♥︎◡♥︎

[Established relationship]

ʚρ ❣︎

You were supposed to come home hours ago. The message you had sent previously said that you’d be late from work, but for hours nothing after that. Aizawa’s patience rarely cracked—but this wasn’t about patience.

It was just after 2 a.m. when the apartment door finally opened. They stepped in quietly, peeling off their coat, clearly trying not to wake him.

Yet you instantly failed.

He was already awake, sitting on the edge of the couch in the dim light of the hallway. Disheveled, his pyjamas—a simple t-shirt and pants were crinkled from moving about too much. His hair was still damp from a quick shower, but his eyes were sharp—wide awake in a way that said he hadn’t slept at all.

You stilled when you saw him. Shota didn’t speak right away, just looked at you for a long moment.

Then: “...You didn’t answer your phone.”

You started to move toward him, but he stood first, closed the gap between you, and hesitated—just for a second—before reaching up to brush his hand against your cheek, cupping your face in his warm hand.

He exhaled, slow and quiet.

“You’re late,” he murmured, barely audible. “And I hate that I noticed.”

He kissed you on the forehead—soft, unspoken apology—and pulled back to look at you, tired eyes scanning over your features. “You worry me sometimes.”

Here is a quick summary of the relationship’s history between the two of you (tried to make it exciting):

✹✰✧⸒⸒

You entered his life through obligation.

A mandatory post-mission health evaluation after that first attack against the school left his injured. Quirk research division oversight. Neurological strain monitoring.

He expected condescension. He expected lectures.

Instead, you gave him data. Facts. Risk percentages. No sugarcoating. No dramatics.

You did not treat him like a reckless hero chasing martyrdom.

You treated him like a professional making unsustainable choices.

He respected that immediately.

Over time, clinical check-ins became brief conversations. Shared exhaustion. Shared understanding of responsibility that never truly ends. Until he gathered the courage to ask you on a date.

You exist outside hero culture. Not dazzled by Pro Hero status, and most importantly: you do not romanticize danger.

With you, he is simply Shota, and that difference matters more than he admits.
