Thank you for 1000 followers!
I’d meant to write a post about this a while ago, but the situation with the Jax bot (or rather, with its artwork) made it a bit difficult. Anyway, as the author hasn’t given me a reply yet (I’ll write more about that later), I need to put up a post of some sort anyway.
Well then, my dear sinners, thank you for reaching 1,000 followers! I suppose this counts as a sort of early birthday present (16 October, just to remind you). I’m really pleased that we’ve reached this number quite quickly, because back when I was still MackNack, it took much longer to get there. Oh well, never mind that. As for the bots, I’ve got a couple of ideas about who’ll be next, especially for Halloween, but for now it’ll be a surprise for you lot, heh heh. And I’m also thinking of making duo bots for some of the characters. But, again, thank you everyone 💜
Now I’ll go into more detail about the situation with the art on the Jax bot.
A couple of days after I released the Jax bot, either the artist (@freeposers / bandosaw) it himself or someone sent it to him, but in any case, he wrote on the bot, “Don’t feed my art to AI”, and then posted the same message on Twitter (X (I’ll never get used to calling it by its new name)). And Sannoji / Sannojiii also pinged me on my discord server.
And, of course, I decided to write to Bando, only not in DMs, but right into his post:
And then I checked the comments on his post. Of course, there were comments that AI is bad and how could I have let that happen. And, why didn't I just cropped the image?
But we all know just how ‘wonderful’ the moderation is on our ‘beloved’ website. It’s so wonderful that my bots were banned simply for their avatars, even though the images had been cropped. And this happened quite recently with those same bots for Narinder and August Roberts. And censoring with images or black bars / squares is pointless; again, just think back to the days when I was MackNack and used meme images for censorship, but in the end, after a while, the moderators removed the images from the bots.
And as for Bando: “Don’t feed my art to AI”. I actually thought this was so obvious or self-evident that it would spring to mind, but apparently not everyone knows or understands it. AI (whether Chinese, Western, or any other kind, for that matter) learns from everything, INCLUDING any images and artwork from Twitter (X). To be more precise, they are essentially always ‘monitoring’ new content on the internet and immediately downloading it, analysing it and utilising it. So, whatever anyone may say, and however much you artists yourselves may not want it, AI will, in any case, study all forms of human creativity. Incidentally, Twitter’s built-in Grok does exactly the same thing 100 per cent of the time, even if you disable all the settings to stop it from analysing you. And I actually use Grok to censor artwork, so...
And let me say straight away: I’m not against AI itself, BUT only as a tool – not as it is at the moment, where AI does absolutely everything for people, which is why those very same people are being made redundant. That is completely unacceptable. After all, AI cannot replace a human being. But, having fun with that, like chatting... Yeah, why not? 🤣
That’s all for now. Please forgive me in advance if I haven’t made myself clear in any of my comments, words or the like, as I’m working four days in a row AGAIN because of another colleague, and I’m not feeling too great, to put it mildly. And I’m working 12-hour shifts every day. So... Yeah.
