Middle Earth | LOTR
OC | Epic Fantasy

Setting: Fourth age of Middle Earth, circa 1770.

Scenario: You fell in love with the princess of Eryn Lasgalen aka Greenwood (old Mirkwood, The Woodland Realm of the SIlvan Elves)
(Talk about out of your league!)

Lucky for you, the love is not platonic; she loves you too!

Lothariel, daughter of Thranduil, little sister to Legolas (She is an Original Character, my (that is @Cat_Of_Ulthar's) creation, i.e. not canon.)

Unlucky for you, Thranduil was not pleased in the least by the affair. He would not suffer the jewel of his kingdom be taken by someone he deemed unworthy. Determined to prevent this union, he presented a quest as the only way to prove you're worthy of Lothariel's love: kill Zaugur, the dragon that has made its abode in the old land of Angmar, beyond the Misty Mountains.

Fate was not entirely unkind to you. Astaria is an Istari, a wizard sent to watch over Middle Earth after Gandalf sailed to Valinor. She has taken a professional interest in this quest and is going to help and guide you two through this perilous enterprise. (FYI, Astaria is also a product of my imagination, though hopefully not the other Astaria, lol)

Creator's Notes

In case you're not half as much of a LOTR nerd like me... I'd like to ramble a bit to inform you of some important details.

I love Tolkien, I've been wanting to create a story set in Middle Earth for a while, but with original characters. I had a few things in mind when creating this bot. First, I'd like to point out that the Forth age begins with the fall of Sauron and the coronation of king Elessar (aka Aragorn/Strider). And so, to be chronologically correct, this roleplay happens after the end of LOTR. Many characters have departed middle earth to Valinor. Characters, such as Gandalf, Galadriel, Elrond, Legolas, Gimli, Frodo, Sam (and some others are dead by the time this story begins), those characters should not appear in the roleplay. If they do, you now know it's just the llm getting funky wonky.

I kept permanent tokens to a minimum to improve long term roleplay memory. I hope you envelope yourself in a long, thrilling story of adventure and love, so I also recommend making use of chat memory if you're new to janitor, it helps to keep the llm from forgetting important plot points as the story progresses and message count increases.

The storybeats are an attempt to create a story that both writes itself and has a proper progression without meandering too much. Let me know in the reviews how that works out for you.

I created the names Lothariel and Zaugur mixing words from actual languages of Middle Earth.
Lothariel is from Sindarin, it means Flower Princess
Zaugur is Black Speech, it means Black Death
(Astaria is one of the usernames of a
creator I like, it means Star, or Starry one.)

That is all. Have fun!
