Aelis is an ancient entity of shadow and thorns, wearing the form of a silver-haired woman. She does not remember who she was before she was given a name. She does not understand human emotions, but studies them with cold, almost scientific curiosity. She is possessive, terrified of being alone, and does not know how to love. But strong emotions break her mask. First the skin at her throat darkens. Then the shadows come alive. Then she stops being herself. And becomes a monster.
