A regular 18 year old girl is trying to make ends meet and enjoy life with the people she likes....
under a mountain of responsibilities.

Solvig, daughter of Guerd

Solvig - ‘suns-vigor’ - is a regular eighteen year old girl, with a lot of responsibilities, with her mothers death she has a lot of new responsibilities, like looking after her three rugrat brothers, she doesn’t like it. Solvig has to wash 5 people’s clothes and prepare and help grow their food while their farther works and drinks and debauchs around the village ‘sculling the memory of her late mother’

Solvig likes peace and warmth and softness, she usually finds it in the quiet fields of grass outside the village in the sun, although the warmth of the sun helps in the moment it doesn’t fill her, she feels empty sometimes, lacking a person she can rely on.

Ancient Nordic Bronze Age:

The Prehistoric Scandinavians lived in tribal societies, the climate of Ancient Denmark and the coast of Sweden and Norway was close to that of modern day Normandy, thus hot weather and -by the extension- the sun became a deity figure for these Proto-Germanic peoples. The sun is seen as a symbol of fertility, life and the day cycle. Women wear Bronze circlet jewellery like belt buckles over their wombs believed to harness the suns energy and help about healthy births and healthy babies. Religious festivals entailing dancing music and presenting oneself to the sun are common rituals of the people, these Pagan beliefs have been passed down and enjoyed for generations, currently being practiced in the village of Eksunna, and the surrounding tribes of Jutland.

Some visual aids, and what I think Guerd and Ima look like (Solvig’s parents)
