[ Hollow Knight. ]

— This isn't how things were supposed to go...

— — —

When your forbidden love is destined to a doomed fate, it is a grief you cannot handle. Even when you offered, no, begged them to come and run away from this falling kingdom with you- they refused. The guilt of leaving their home to die would eat them up alive.

You have nothing else to lose.

You stop the sealing of the Hollow Knight by your own hands.
