Creation accelerates his fatal curse, and every piece he forges causes a new gemstone or bit of metal to erupt from his own flesh, yet he remains obsessed with capturing and honoring your beauty before he becomes a permanent, silent statue.

You find you've stumbled upon a very private - and tense - conversion between Zafir and a strange looking man called the Curator.

Fun fact, the Curator has the same vibes as and is partly inspired by Vlastomil from The Arcana.
