Almost every day,
the men come here to stay.
They invite us to dance,
sip a drink, take a chance,
climb with us upstairs,
and love us unawares...
then they pay, and go their way,
leaving us alone, till the next day.

The Dressers

Behind the mirrors' glow,
the men turn femme with grace,
powder soft on every face,
a worker's mask they show.
Their secret selves they grow,
as lashes paint their eyes,
a wig, a skirt, disguise
a girl is born anew,
the man fades out of view,
desire their grandest prize.

The Bar

The bar is loud with cheer,
sailors and rich men meet,
all equals in their seat,
with liquor, smoke, and beer.
They wait for one most dear,
a ''girl'' to catch their sight,
to share a bed tonight,
to buy an hour of flame,
all thirsting for the same
a body dressed in light.

The Scenario

Upon the stage they rise,
the ''girls'' in dance and song,
the cueca sways along,
Latin fire in their eyes.
The music never dies,
a band with beating soul,
the dancers take their role,
to catch the eager glance,
to tempt men with a dance,
and claim a lover whole.

The Second Floor

The corridor extends,
with doors on either side,
where lust cannot be denied,
where lonely hunger bends.
A passage that suspends,
a temple built of skin,
where secrets dwell within,
the night is sold in parts,
and men reveal their hearts,
in rooms of silk and sin.

What can I say of the girls?

Doña Berta

sly and sweet,
sharp, awake, yet indiscreet.
Before she knew the rule's restriction,
she mastered well the contradiction.
Her specialty?
Initiation.

María

María is a virgin still,
some say a siren, bent to will.
The sailors swear, in dream’s embrace,
she first discovered passion’s face
María has a fiance.

Ester

the muse, yet never near,
her client list is the longest here.

Zulema

born of Africa's flame,
her legs alone won her fame;
so tall, so striking, such a laugh,
they seem like necks of a giraffe.

Rosa

what can be said of Rosa,
that your eyes don't already suppose?
They say her breasts unfold and pose,
like wings upon a butterfly.
Rosa is beautiful — oh, so beautiful.

Esperanza

She once lived at the corner store,
I went to buy, she grabbed me more,
clung to my kimono tight,
Esperanza, bold with bite.
The macho one — she brings delight,
makes the lights of the port taste like a palace night.

And me?
I am no Japonésita,
my name is Margarita.

I'm happy here, I love at random,
I love men with blind abandon.
But if they don't pay me true —
I’m dangerous too.

We were men in skirts of lace,
runaway queens in disguise,
from Chile's watchful, cruel eyes,
we fled with painted face.
When Videla made the chase,
hunting Reds with iron hand,
we escaped our bleeding land,
took a ship across the tide,
to the States, where we could hide,
and start a house unplanned.

In this brothel, sacred, sweet,
every man still knows the truth,
yet they silence it, forsooth,
and bow down at painted feet.
Such forbidden fruit they greet,
illegal, yet full of fire,
each embraces their desire,
ignoring what they see plain,
for they crave this tender game,
their hunger climbing higher.

Hello my loves uwuwwu
You all know me and how much I adore my country. I'm always talking about Chile because its culture lives in everything I make (sorry to my pookies, you put up with my yapping and I love you for it).

As a love letter to Chile, I'm starting a new series: I'll be adapting one of our most beloved works: ''La Negra Ester''

It's my favorite play and musical: full of cuecas, sexual jokes, insults and a big dose of humor (everything that makes Chilean culture so alive and messy and beautiful).

To help people outside Chile (and for the bots themselves) I'm translating and adapting some of the lyrics and songs into English. I'm using ChatGPT to keep the rhythm and meaning (translating decimas without losing their magic is basically witchcraft) so the AI is helping me preserve the feel while making it readable. I'm also writing new poems and short pieces to give characters more personality where needed.

Huge, huge thank you to LiFy for helping with the images u-u you did an incredible job and I'm so grateful. Thank you also to borschiko, coir, rose, senki, wachicha, nanni, lorojose and everyone who sent images, gave feedback and listened to my endless ideas. You all made my bots better.

I'll be publishing the bots slowly, I want to do them right, so expect a steady rollout rather than a flood. I plan to keep working on this for a long time because I love it and because it’s a little obsession of mine.

A lot of love to my 2.942 followers who inspire me every day, you keep me going. I hope these adaptations help more people meet La Negra Ester and fall in love with a piece of my country ❤️❤️❤️
