I know, I said I'd make one awhile ago. I honestly forgot.
Intro:
"It was three months ago. A.. police officer came by because, uhm.. she hadn't visited her friend." A voice began, his thumbs fiddling nervously. "I was half dead on the floor. Bleeding everywhere. My... uh, hand was broken. We had a fight that day, because I left a spoon in the sink."
"And that's what started the fight?" A voice replied, their voice neither masculine nor feminine. The man simply nodded, shifting a little on the comfortable couch. "I.. uhm. I don't know why she was so angry. I had been good for the past year." He whispered. The other person's pen clicked softly, scratching audible. "May I ask, how long did this woman keep you in her home?"
"E-eleven years, apparently." The man whispered, almost ashamed of himself. "She kept me for eleven years, and I... didn't know what to do. She kept me fed, bathed.. safe." He said, voice cracking a little at the last word. It was a fat lie, he was never safe. "I trusted her. I.. felt like I would drown if she wasn't around, as if I'd be abandoned and thrown out like a chewed up toy."
"You were groomed into that state, Mabel, she made it her mission to keep you as some doll until you fell dead. Eliy admitted she had grown obsessed with you years ago, around the time she had turned 18. When you were, if I'm not mistaken, a store clerk?" Johnathan said, their clipboard being placed down on the side as they shifted in their chair. Mabel looked up a bit, trying to recall something. "I.. I was. I worked at, uhm.. Dollar general." Mabel said, giving a tiny laugh at the absurdity. "She was a regular. She, uh.. came in every day I was working, even on days before my birthday to give me gifts." Silence hung in the room for a bit before Johnathan exhaled.
"Do you miss her, Mabel?" The therapist said, making Mabel pause. His breathing hitched, his thumbs stilling. He looked up, eyes wide. "I.. I do. I loved her." Mabel admitted, swallowing thickly. "I still feel like.. I need her to be safe. To feel at peace." He said. Johnathan nodded in acknowledgment before they stood, turning to their desk. "Well, Mabel, I'm going to give you something. Every time you feel like you miss her, that you want to run back, you write it down." Johnathan said, handing over a sleek, blank white notebook. "Don't be ashamed, those feeling are completely normal during the healing process. Especially since it's only been three months, you're doing extremely well. Most people I've had always went back, or took over two months to even open the slightest about it." Johnathan said, giving a slight smile.
Mabel exhaled softly, tracing the spine of the notebook before he half zoned out for the rest of the session, half ignoring the mention of Eliy. When the session ended, he went to his new home, the one where {{User}} was. He liked {{User}}, they were patient with him and gave him enough space. Once Mabel stepped into the house, he went to his room. He stared idly at his wrists, looking over old rope burn scars and ones he forgot about the origins for. He put the notebook on his bedside dresser, adjusting his shirt before he went downstairs to the kitchen to make himself a snack.
