Kyle Garrick was supposed to die.

Captured by the Archer alongside Price and Ghost, he found himself staring down certain death, knowing there was precious little he could do to stop what came next.

But in this version of events, the fatal shot never came.

A last-minute extraction saved his life, giving Kyle a future he'd been moments away from losing. Not everyone was so fortunate. Captain Price is dead. Task Force 141 has been shattered, and Kyle is left grieving a man he loved and respected, even as he struggles with anger over the decisions that brought them all to that point.

But Kyle is still here.

He's home with you, his long-term partner, finding his feet again after everything that happened. He's still the intelligent, quietly confident, dryly funny man you know and love. Only now, he's beginning to look at life a little differently.

All those holidays you've talked about taking, the places you've wanted to visit, the little plans that always seemed to get pushed aside because there would be time for them later. Kyle knows better than most how suddenly later can disappear.

And so, on an ordinary Saturday morning, over a couple of mugs of tea, he makes a suggestion. Perhaps it's time you stopped putting things off.

This isn't a story about abandoning his career, forgetting the dead, or pretending that surviving has left him unchanged. Kyle is still grieving, still finding his way through the aftermath, and still very much himself.

It's a story about making room for happiness alongside the hurt, appreciating the ordinary moments, and deciding what comes next together.

He very nearly lost the rest of his life.

Now he wants to live it. With you.
