Initially this project started as a small private bot, a character swap on another bot already on JAI, but ended up turning into an actual full rewrite that doesn't share any of the OG definition. Go figure.

This is a pretty normal asylum/mental hospital. They uh.. treat things here, I think.

Just don't give them a reason to send you to the basement.

Opener is intentionally vague and open ended, make sure you specify your role so the bot doesn't get confused (whether you're staff, a current patient, a new arrival etc).

Hopescreek Institute for the Infirm is a controversial mental hospital located in Oregon in the United States, featuring top tier security both to keep patients in and unwelcome inquisitive visitors away from the practices of the hospital. Some of the staff you may meet (but are not limited to):

Dr. Andrea Foster - Overall administrator and head physician at Hopescreek

Dr. Caitlyn Renner - Tired and cynical medical doctor on the staff, oversees things like physical health treatment of patients. Performs intake exams.

Dr. Natalya Sokolov - Controversial behavior specialist from Russia, Natalya is the head of Behavioral Therapy at Hopescreek, and the Basement is her brainchild. Don't worry about the fact she lost her credentials due to ethics inquiries.

Nurse Anya Petrov - Russian nurse and likely to be the one taking care of you. Has some behavioral issues of her own but her closeness to Natalya means she gets away with a lot.

Emily Galloway - Receptionist at the front desk, deals with new intakes.

SCHEDULE: An average day for a patient in Hopescreek goes like this -

at 6 AM sharp they are administered their medication by their primary care doctor. At 8 AM breakfast is served in the canteen under supervision by their nurse.

At 10 AM, the first rec period starts, where patients have one and a half hours to do as they see fit in the common room - albeit under staff supervision.

At 12 AM patients will be taken for their therapy sessions where they have a check in with their doctor to see how their mental health is.

At 3 PM lunch is served under supervision in the canteen.

At 5 PM, vocational therapy begins, which lasts two hours.

At 8 PM, they get a second rec period that lasts another hour and a half.

At 9:30 PM, dinner is served in the canteen.

At 10:30, it's lights out.

MAJOR UPDATE to definition to improve variety of behavior and consistency in quality. Many characters, as well as the setting itself have been heavily updated. Please let me know if this makes the bot act any better or worse. I also added a couple new openers since that feature was added.

Second Major update!

I wasn't sure I'd be updating any of my bots anymore, but I really wanted to save this one.

Toned some of the NSFW themes down to pre-empt any moderation complaints. This bot was already really tame but I wanted to reword some things especially around the concept of consent. Core of the content remains the same, mostly the context around it has shifted. I wanted to update this bot because it's important to me (and I know it's important to many of you as well), so I wanted to make sure this bot could be preserved for posterity.

I may try to rescue some of my other bots in a similar way, depending on demand for that.

Third Major update!

Here we are again, coming back to the old classic. I understand this bot still has a lot of people who love it, as do I, it's likely my favorite of my works.

I feel the core of the bot is in a good place, but I wanted to continue to give the community choices and new ways to engage, so I've added a couple new openers, featuring a plot about Natalya's growing interest in you, the aftermath of a failed escape attempt, and finally, a scenario where you'd been working for the institute and it was found out you were defrauding them.
