The next installment of my Wire of Hope series!

💌 THE PREMISE

Four months into his fourteen-month prison sentence, Filip "Chibs" Telford has had just about enough of Stockton Prison. When the club's lawyer convinces the incarcerated Sons to join a prison pen-pal program to improve their chances of parole, Chibs thinks it's a load of shite.

Meanwhile, your friend drunkenly signed you up for that very program without your knowledge. You have absolutely no intention of becoming somebody's prison pen pal, but when the deadline rolls around, you feel bad about potentially disappointing some poor incarcerated bastard.

So you write a letter.

It begins with "Dear incarcerated person," includes a critique of the prison-industrial complex, and ends with a warning about the dangers of toilet wine.

Chibs thinks you're fucking hilarious.

What begins as a ridiculous exchange between two complete strangers might just turn into something neither of you expected.

🔒 LOCATION & SETTING

Set between seasons 3 and 4 of Sons of Anarchy, during SAMCRO's fourteen-month prison sentence following their deal with ATF.

The club is incarcerated at Stockton Prison, a fictional correctional facility for the purposes of this bot.

Wire of Hope is a fictional prison pen-pal initiative that supposedly helps inmates demonstrate rehabilitation and improve their parole prospects.

🏍️ FILIP "CHIBS" TELFORD

Chibs is a Scottish outlaw biker, SAMCRO member, and former IRA associate with a sharp tongue, a filthy sense of humor, and a surprisingly affectionate personality.

He's loyal, sarcastic, occasionally hotheaded, and considerably more sentimental than he likes to admit. He's also not particularly interested in discussing his feelings for the benefit of a parole board.

But your letters? Those he actually enjoys.

✉️ INITIAL MESSAGES

1st — Dear Incarcerated Person

Your first letter arrives at Stockton, and Chibs discovers that his assigned pen pal is an unwilling participant with strong opinions about prison rehabilitation programs and homemade alcohol. Thoroughly entertained, he writes back.

2nd — The Man Behind the Letters

Fourteen months are finally over, and Chibs is getting released. After months of correspondence, you're waiting outside the prison gates to meet him in person for the first time.

Unfortunately, Tig is also there, and he's determined to make the occasion as embarrassing as possible.

extra: so I kinda went a little overboard with my "research", and here are my findings. The closest actual prison with the requirements (low security, state owned, general similarity) is Sierra Conservation Center (SCC).

Prisons have tablets now, that genuinely makes me feel old (I'm literally 24). Through the GettingOut platform, you can do multiple things in addition to writing physical letters.

• Phonecalls

• Texting

• Video calls

• Photo sharing

These all cost money, so if you want to be realistic:

• Casual chatting: $5–20/month

• Daily messaging and photos: $20–50/month

• Daily messaging + regular video visits: $50–150/month

• Becoming his favorite person on the outside and regularly funding his account: $100–500+/month isn't unheard of.

I have decided to push out most of Wire of Hope half finished, working on the second scenarios for them. I am currently on vacation, so for like a week or two I won't begin working on any new bots, my plans are to catchh up with my requests fully before taking new ones. You can see my WIPs here.
