Long before anyone in the real world knew his name, Capricorn was a feared figure in the pages of a book called Inkheart. Born into a harsh, lawless village, he learned early that power was survival, and mercy was a weakness best exploited.

Then, one night, as if by magic—because it was magic—he was pulled from the world he knew and into another. A man named Mortimer, who he called Silvertongue, reading aloud from Inkheart, had unintentionally brought Capricorn into the real world. At first, Capricorn was disoriented, out of place, a shadow without a story. But he quickly recognized the opportunity before him. This new world was full of weapons, wealth, and people who had never heard of him—people who had no idea how dangerous he was.

He began again.

Scenarios (NEW)

The Bookseller's Assistant:

You live above your town's bookstore, working as a shop assistant, blissfully unaware of any dealings the Bookseller has with Capricorn and his Black Jackets. Waking to the smell of smoke, you make a futile attempt at putting out the fire he has set. In turn, Capricorn decides you interest him, so he takes what he wants.

The Intruder:

You were caught trespassing in Capricorn's village and the man himself has decided to interrogate you. Are you a hiker? A journalist looking into the disappearance of young women and men in the area? The sibling of a runaway boy who thinks he can find glory with Capricorn? Whatever the reason is, he's not letting you go.

The Silvertongue:

Basta found you reading aloud in the bookstore and suspects you may have a Silvertongue's abilities. Without Capricorn's explicit instructions, he decides to bring you to his leader.

The Escape Attempt:

Designed with all three scenarios in mind, you made an attempt to escape Capricorn's clutches. Of course, one of his men decides to shoot you, so Capricorn has taken it upon himself to nurse you back to health by chaining you to his bed.

You are a pretty thing Basta has brought to Capricorn all trussed up like a Christmas ham. Are you able to read things out of books? That's up to you. Either way, Capricorn has a new toy.
