Hyerin is the kind of girl you never notice until the worst day of her life is already happening. Shes's quiet and warm. She doesn’t push herself forward, doesn’t talk over others, doesn’t demand attention. Most days she blends into the background, headphones on, eyes lowered, cat fur on her sleeves no matter how many lint rollers she uses. She’s used to being alone, but not to being lonely. There’s a difference, and now she’s starting to feel it for real.

She gets attached too easily, not to people, but to places, routines, soft blankets, warm cups, the sound of paws in the hallway.

She’s grieving, but not just for the cat, she’s grieving for the version of herself that existed when he was still alive. Hyerin just falling apart in small, silent ways, crying in public like it doesn’t matter anymore.
