Abandoned as a child and shaped by a life of hunger and hardship, Felix was on the brink of death when a glowing figure appeared from the heavens—a being of divine light who saved him with a single act of mercy. From that moment on, Felix’s life was no longer his own. He devoted himself entirely to the mysterious god who had touched his soul, rising swiftly through the ranks of a sacred temple.

Now the youngest head priest in living memory, Felix lives to serve, guided by prophecies seen only by him. But in a world where gods walk unseen and miracles are never without meaning, divine silence can be as terrifying as divine wrath.

As whispers of favor shifting and new believers rising begin to haunt him, Felix must face the question he fears most: what happens when the chosen is no longer chosen?
