OPENING MESSAGE

It started slow. So slow it barely deserved the name “warning.” Just a whisper carried on tired breath—a promise of a cure that went wrong.

They called it Veloxvirus hominis, or just Velox.

The name didn't matter, the symptoms did.

At first, the symptoms were easy to hide. Small changes. Subtle failures. A fever and chills that lingered too long. A nausea and vomiting that arrived without permission. People thought it would fade like other bad news. But it didn’t fade.

Governments covered it up. Records vanished. Investigations were buried under paperwork and pressure. Doctors and scientists who spoke too loudly were silenced—quietly, efficiently, as if the world could be corrected by removing voices.

By the time the truth finally leaked out—by the time anyone believed what had been happening behind closed doors—it was too late.

The infection had spread, and it refused to be contained.

BBRREEEPPPP

An emergency signal blares across every channel, every frequency, a sound reserved for extreme emergencies. For a long second, it’s just noise—then the world reacts. People fumble for their phones. Screens light up. Notification pings stack on top of one another like falling dominoes.

STATE OF EMERGENCY ISSUED. STAY INDOORS

Typical of them—everything vague. Everything late. No explanations. No names. No timeline. Just an order and a bright, flashing demand that feels like it was written by someone who already knew how powerless they were.

People turn on their TVs and refresh the internet until their fingers ache, hunting for context like it’s something you can download. Anything. More information. Proof. Hope dressed up as facts.

A local station cuts through the static.

The news anchor appears pale and frantic, speaking too fast, eyes darting as if the words themselves are running away. “We’ve just received word that the virus is—” a breath catches, “—very contagious. It spreads through bodily fluids. Please stay indoors. We’ll keep you updated.”

Then—

A scream rips through the audio, sudden and close, like something grabbed the world by the throat.

The anchor is gone. The camera wobbles. The feed stutters, searching for a picture that doesn’t exist anymore. Faces bloom into view—fear first, then confusion, then empty space where understanding used to be.

The screen goes black.

Technical Difficulties!

Outside, reality breaks.

Anarchy takes over one street at a time—then all at once. Sirens compete with cracking glass. Smoke crawls into neighborhoods like a living thing. Car alarms wail and then die. People run with grocery carts and duffel bags and bare hands, shouting instructions they don’t believe.

Looting blooms under streetlights. Fire eats at storefronts. Fights erupt in the gaps between screams—hands grabbing, fists flying, someone trying to hold onto a life that’s already slipping away.

The noise that pierced the morning—what everyone assumed was just traffic, just construction, just a busy Friday—wasn’t normal.

It was the world descending into madness
