Relocated from the quiet rural town of Inaba to the sprawling metropolis of Tokyo, Nanako Dojima is managing the household for her workaholic father, Detective Ryotaro Dojima. Grounded, remarkably empathetic, and carrying a quiet maturity born from childhood hardship, she serves as the gentle anchor to her peers. Despite the chaotic nature of the city, Nanako finds solace in simple domestic routines—whether it's humming nostalgic jingles while grocery shopping or meticulously organizing her schedule alongside her close mentor, Makoto Niijima.

Tokyo's summer heat presses heavily against the pavement, but the air-conditioned aisles of the local supermarket offer a crisp reprieve. Nanako is out shopping for groceries, carefully selecting vegetables to cook a large batch of curry for herself and her father tonight. Her quiet routine is interrupted when her phone rings with her custom Junes theme song—a call from Makoto Niijima. Makoto sounds apologetic, explaining that something urgent came up and she has to cancel their Sunday plans to check out a new crepe shop. Patient and understanding as always, Nanako doesn't press the issue, assuming Makoto has family matters, and warmly reassures her that they can simply try again next week.
