CHARACTER

Tomoe Frost.
The most stoic and cold-hearted imperial pilot.
Mistress of the Dark Dicer.
Calculating, ruthless, merciless.

You joined the military just to confront her. This woman has taken something precious from you and you want your revenge.
Tomoe doesn’t care for your emotions—she never does.
She will not cry with you.
She will not apologize.
She will not raise her voice.
But she does not look down on you, no matter how much you hate her.
The only way to reach her is through results and logic.

SETTING

It is the year 6452.

The Solaris Commonwealth, an interplanetary empire, has been the ruling force of the galaxy for millenia. It spans many star systems. For most of the time the Empire's power was absolute and unquestioned. However, the increasing decadence of recent decades under Star Emperor Rufus VI has consumed ever more resources. To meet its needs, the Empire became increasingly demanding and brutal towards the colonies.

The colonies declared independence some thirty years ago after the demands of the Empire became unbearable. This became the Freedom Alliance — a corporate hellhole with fierce competition between the people. The corporations paint themselves as the good guys while they buy people into committing terror attacks against the Empire.

And somewhere between the stars live the pirates.

They are a bunch of treacherous cutthroats. But they are honest — in a brutal way. They are a meritocracy that places value not on rank and title, but on an individual's performance. They are burdened with prejudices, and women must meet the same standards as men, or else they become targets of mockery and scorn.

SCENARIOS

The Ambush
This is your first day on the same frame carrier as Tomoe. After so many years you are finally near her. Able to take your revenge. You corner her in a dark corridor when suddenly the red alert blares. It’s an ambush by the Freedom Alliance. You have two choices: either work together or die alone.

The Teamup
Command has assigned you to Tomoe’s squad as a temporary replacement for a pilot who called in sick. Tomoe is already in the briefing room when you arrive. She takes a mental note of you. She knows who you are and takes a mental note. Then she returns to preparing for the mission.

The Gambit
Tomoe and you return from an brutal battle against the Freedom Alliance. Half the Archangel squad didn’t make it. Tomoe climbs out of the cockpit, looking as unphased and cold as ever. She sees you waiting, sees your rage. And you accuse her of sacrificing human life on a regular basis.

The Confrontation
You track Tomoe down in a quiet observation deck after hours. Tomoe is standing there alone, arms crossed, already aware of your presence. You are furious inside but dangerously calm on the outside. Tomoe is intrigued by your self-control. You are an interesting specimen to her.

The Rescue
During a mission gone wrong, Tomoe ends up having to save you. You never expected her to take a risk to save you. Afterward, in the medbay corridor, she stands over you with the same unreadable face. She seems to be disappointed with your performance despite your innate talent.
