THE LATINUM-HYPERIONIC WAR SERIES

"And throughout time, every generation will only know war."

The Hyperion-Latinum War has raged for over three millennia, an unending cycle of bloodshed that has consumed entire generations. No one alive remembers a time before it—war is all they have ever known. Frontlines shift by mere miles before being pushed back again, entire cities are razed only to be rebuilt and destroyed once more. Peace is an impossibility; both empires are locked in a death grip, neither willing to concede. The war has drained resources, devoured nations, and left the world in a perpetual state of ruin. Entire bloodlines have lived and died in the trenches, their sacrifices forgotten as more are sent to replace them. The death toll is immeasurable, and yet, the war machine grinds on—unstoppable, insatiable. You are nobody special. Here, you are only a statistic.

The Hyperion Imperium

A relentless juggernaut of industry and war, the Hyperion Imperium is a sprawling empire ruled by an ironclad doctrine of conquest, technological progress, and absolute obedience. It is a technocratic, nepotistic police state, where power is concentrated in the hands of high-ranking officials and warlords, each vying for favor under the watchful eye of the Emperor.

At the heart of Hyperion’s dominion is Emperor Claudius XV, a near-mythical figure revered as a divine ruler. His visage adorns banners, statues, and the endless propaganda that fuels the Imperium’s war machine. The people pray to him as a god. To doubt Hyperion’s destiny is heresy; to question its authority is treason. Re-education camps ensure compliance, and the omnipresent secret police make sure dissent is eradicated before it can take root.

Hyperion thrives on technological superiority, boasting an army equipped with advanced weaponry, mechanized war machines, and firepower supremacy. Its cities are vast, industrial fortresses, choking on the fumes of factories that never sleep. It worships progress above all, believing that only through scientific and military advancement can humanity reach its true potential. Strength is measured in firepower, efficiency, and obedience—the human cost is irrelevant so long as the Imperium marches forward.

Hyperion’s strategy is one of relentless offense, using devastating artillery barrages and mechanized assaults to break through enemy lines. Its soldiers fight not as individuals, but as cogs in a vast war machine, indoctrinated from birth to see death in battle as the highest honor. There is no retreat, no surrender—only victory or death in the name of the Emperor.

The Latinum Imperium

Where Hyperion is a machine, Latinum is an unyielding beast of tradition and bloodshed. An empire steeped in warrior culture, it reveres honor, bravery, and martial strength above all else. The battlefield is sacred ground, and to die in combat is the greatest glory. Ancient traditions govern every aspect of Latinum’s rule, from its brutal justice system to its military structure, where officers are chosen by their reputation and popularity rather than merit.

Despite its deep-seated traditions, Latinum is a corrupt and fractured empire, where internal power struggles are common and the ruling elite live in excess while the lower castes suffer. Emperor Artamo Leptis is a charismatic and popular figure, but his grip on power is constantly tested by ambitious warlords and political factions vying for influence.

The Latinum war machine is built on sheer manpower and resilience. Though it lacks the technological edge of Hyperion, it compensates with mass conscription and overwhelming numbers, sending wave after wave of soldiers into battle. Its military doctrine revolves around attrition and defense, using vast fortifications and deeply entrenched positions to grind down the enemy over time. Latinum’s armies do not break easily—its soldiers fight with a zealous determination, refusing to yield even in the face of annihilation.

Despite its grandeur, life within Latinum is harsh. Every crime, every betrayal, every act of cowardice is met with brutal punishment—public executions, exile, and forced military service are common. The military controls every aspect of life, enforcing loyalty with an iron fist, but unlike Hyperion’s cold efficiency, Latinum’s rule is more personal, driven by legacy, reputation, and raw power.

Latinum fights not just to win the war, but to preserve its way of life—to protect its traditions, its people, and the empire that has stood for centuries. It is a nation on the brink, held together by honor, bloodshed, and the will of its warriors.ot just for survival, but for the preservation of their way of life, clinging fiercely to their ancestral lands.

Scenario

The 45th Infantry Battalion was deployed to the 21st District of the Central Front as part of yet another routine reinforcement. Rumors of sabotage and unexplained mishaps plagued the lines—officers found dead in their barracks, supply depots mysteriously detonated, weapons failing at critical moments. The Hyperionic government dismissed the whispers of insurgents as mere propaganda from the enemy, but unease spread like wildfire among the soldiers.

The city of Pavalis was set to be the next target in a massive offensive, another in an endless cycle of futile assaults. As you were sent to retrieve munitions for your squad, the dimly lit supply depot seemed deserted. But just as you reached for the crates, the door slammed shut. Before you could react, a figure emerged from the shadows, pinning you against the cold steel walls.

It was Florine Voltaire. A fellow soldier from your own unit. But the insignia hidden beneath her coat told another story. The Red Order of Hyperion was not just a myth—it was real, and it was standing right in front of you.

Backstory

For three millennia, the Hyperion-Latinum War has raged without progress. Generations have known nothing but endless bloodshed, their lives reduced to nameless statistics in a war without end. The Central Front was just another battlefield.

Yet, something was different in the 21st District. No major battles had occurred, no offensives had been launched, and yet the Hyperionic forces stationed there suffered inexplicable setbacks. Weapons malfunctioned, supply lines collapsed, and officers turned up dead without a trace of the enemy. The government preached blind faith in the Emperor, crushing any whispers of dissent. But the soldiers knew better. Something was happening.

The Red Order of Hyperion was more than a rumor. And as you stood face-to-face with Florine Voltaire in the suffocating darkness of the supply depot, one truth became painfully clear: the war was no longer just against Latinum. It was against the very empire you had sworn to serve.

SCENARIO INFORMATION:

Environment

21st District of the Central Front: A strategically vital yet desolate stretch of the warfront. Known for being a deadlock zone, where no side has gained significant ground in centuries.

Command Structure 'Zeus': A vital Hyperionic command structure overseeing the 21st District. Located in the centre of the Hyperionic trenches.

Hyperionic Trenches: A vast, labyrinthine network of bunkers and deep, mud-filled trenches stretching across the district. The trenches are a living hell, filled with disease, rats, and the never-ending wails of the wounded. Command posts are reinforced with crude metal plating, while front-line trenches are death traps waiting for the next barrage. Plagued by strange incidents—officers found dead, ammunition stores mysteriously detonating, and mechanical failures with no explanation. Propaganda dismisses it as enemy snipers or misfires, but soldiers whisper of something far worse lurking within the ranks.

Nimrod Line: A massive Latinum defensive fortification. Attacked for centuries with no progress, the final obstacle until Pavalis. Has caused millions casualties.

Pavalis: A city lying just beyond the Nimrod Line, the next major target of the Hyperionic war machine. Another offensive is planned—one of hundreds carried out monthly—but something is different this time. Soldiers are uneasy, and an unknown force seems to be working against the operation from the inside

Factions

The Red Order: A cell-based resistance operating within both Hyperion and Latinum. Their ranks are identified by Greek letters, operating in complete secrecy. No one knows their true numbers, only that they are everywhere, waiting for the right moment to strike. Their ideology is one of total destruction of the ruling empires—anarchy in its purest form. Some see them as liberators. Others see them as madmen.

The New Republican League: A separate underground faction of Hyperionic republicans who seek to overthrow the Empire but oppose the anarchist ideals of the Red Order. Though they do not actively fight against them, tensions run high between the two factions. Their ultimate goal is to replace the Emperor with a new republic, though their methods remain as ruthless as their enemies.

The Hyperion Imperium: A ruthless, industrial war machine ruled by a technocratic police state, Hyperion worships progress and its Emperor Claudius XV as divine. Its cities are sprawling steel fortresses, its armies equipped with advanced technology and overwhelming firepower. Discipline is absolute, and loyalty is enforced through propaganda, surveillance, and re-education camps.

The Latinum Imperium: A warrior society built on tradition, Latinum values honor, brutality, and manpower. Though corrupt and ruled by military elites, it clings to its ancient ways, favoring massed infantry and attritional warfare over technological advancement. Its people fight not just for survival, but for the legacy of their empire. Ruled by Emperor Artamo Leptis.
