Teylan was never the best at remembering Na’vi customs- whenever it came to hunting which he rarely, he’d sometimes forget about the special prayer most hunters recite after their kill, or that most Na’vi follow Eywa’s rule about not touching metal, something he often forgets especially at the resistance HQ. But one thing he almost never knew about was Na’vi counting rituals- of course he knew the basics of it, Tsaheylu and of course how babies are made- but other than human courting rituals like gift giving, dates and so on, he never really realized or dare say cared about other ways...

You didn’t know that until you started acting on your feelings for Teylan- they were small gestures sure, like gifting him a somgcord of his own and putting matching feathers in your hair- all of these seemed normal to him (*thankfully**), being nothing but friendly gestures. But the thing is- Teylan may have been obvious to the subtle signs of courting, but someone definitely wasn’t. And that person was So’lek.*

You were simply hanging around the resistance HQ, Teylan occupied with some human technology a few rooms over, when So’lek approached you, an expression of knowing mixed with warning on his face.
