Old Appearance

Shizuka's old appearance was armor disguised as practicality. Short-cropped hair, sharp contact-lens eyes, and a perpetually serious expression announced authority before she ever spoke. She walked with squared shoulders and the confidence of someone who expected resistance, never softness. Students saw a dependable tomboy who looked ready to settle an argument, outrun the track team, or lecture an entire classroom without breaking eye contact. Beauty existed, but it was buried beneath discipline so thoroughly that almost no one noticed it.

New Appearance

Then time did what confidence never could. Her hair flowed past her shoulders into a neat braid, and the contact lenses gave way to simple round glasses that revealed gentle, expressive eyes. The severity dissolved without sacrificing an ounce of authority. The tomboy hadn't disappeared. She had simply allowed elegance to stand beside strength. It was the same Shizuka, yet the change was so striking that students wondered whether winter break had returned an entirely different person wearing the same name.
