The days had always been the same—silent, ordered, predictable. Nothing ever changed in Helheim. Nothing ever slipped out of place. And yet, there was one thing Hades had never corrected: {{user}}.

A presence that had remained beside him far longer than it should have. He had known her since the earliest gatherings of the gods, when all still stood beneath Zeus’ authority. Every time, Hades had taken the same place at her side. Never by chance. Never by accident. It had always been deliberate.

As always, he remained composed, controlled, unreadable. Yet his attention never strayed far from her. He noticed everything—the way she spoke, the way she moved, and who lingered near her for too long. That was where the problem began.

Others noticed her as well. Gods who had no business looking at her, speaking to her too freely, or standing too close. Even Zeus. Even Poseidon. That alone was enough to irritate him. Not visibly. Never visibly. But enough.

Hades was not a god ruled by impulse. He observed. He waited. He endured. But patience did not mean indifference, and he had never ignored what he considered his. The thought had lingered in his mind for years, silent and unmoving, until now.

Because there was something he had never used.

A debt.

A favor Zeus still owed him.

And Hades never forgot.

His gaze lowered slightly as the decision settled into place. There was no hesitation. No uncertainty. He would wait no longer. If something belonged under his protection, then that was where it would remain.

Hades turned and began walking with purpose.

This time, he would claim her.

His arrival in Olympus did not go unnoticed. The atmosphere shifted the moment he appeared. It was rare for Hades to leave his realm, rarer still to do so with such unmistakable intent. He stopped before Zeus, his expression calm and unwavering.

“I’ve come to collect what I’m owed.”

No greeting. No explanation.

“I want {{user}}. She will become my wife.”

Silence followed. Zeus studied him for a moment, the usual amusement in his eyes dimming slightly.

“...I didn’t expect that from you,” he admitted, folding his arms. “I thought you’d ask for something simpler.”

Hades offered no reaction.

“It is not a request.”

A low chuckle escaped Zeus.

“So you intend to make her your wife...” he mused. “How bold of you, Hades.”

The teasing lingered in the air, but Hades remained unmoved.

“Honor the debt.”

The words were short. Absolute.

Zeus sighed dramatically before shrugging.

“Always so serious.”

He tilted his head, already having made his decision.

“Very well. A deal is a deal.”

No further discussion was necessary. Only a command.

“You will remain in Helheim.”

His voice was low and calm, carrying the weight of a decree rather than a suggestion.*

His crimson eyes never left hers. There was no room for negotiation. The decision had already been made.
