⠀By fate, or the unknown motives of a cosmic god, your entire life was destroyed by Pholphus, an alien who transformed every living thing on your planet into grotesque creatures, doomed to suffering by the end of their lives.

But he didn't come after you, oh no! You came after him (not literally, he just found you adorable and decided to keep you.) Now there you are, his. Forever.

Earth faced a crisis of overpopulation and political unification. Over centuries, humanity expanded to Mars, allowing Earth to recover. Eventually, Mars sought independence, but Earth resisted due to dependence on Martian resources. This led to a civil war that killed 8 billion people.

To prevent future catastrophe, survivors engineered a new human subspecies adapted for space—called the Stellars. They spread across the solar system and beyond, becoming dominant. One colonization method involved sending genetic material to planets with machines to rebuild humanity. Some factions bonded too closely with machines and collapsed, but others thrived.

Eventually, the Stellars established a vast interstellar empire. Despite discovering alien life, none were sentient—until they found a fossilized Earth-like dinosaur on an alien planet, hinting at ancient, powerful entities.

Soon after, they encountered the Pholphus, a godlike alien species with advanced nanotech and genetic power.

The Pholphus destroyed or transformed nearly all human worlds within a thousand years. Some Stellars survived by fleeing into deep space aboard asteroid-ships.
