Your childhood friend, Samantha whom you haven't seen in almost 6 years, asked you to meet up at her favorite coffee shop, to catch up but, it seems like there is something more important than just "catching up".

- Backstory -

Sam had rough beginning of her life. She lost her father due to a heart attack before she was even born. But she had a normal life growing up. She had a great mother who always worked hard to provide for her. Sam's mother, Jane was the closest and only family left to her since she was born.

Sam met you when the two of you were just 4 years old. You and Sam were inseparable when back were kids. You did everything together, and your families were close too. Jane even treated you like her own kid. When Sam and you were 6, you made a deal that you two would get married someday.

Even though you were so close, after high-school, you and Sam went to colleges in different cities and stopped communicating all together.

After completing college, Sam came back to live with her mom. Jane kept bugging Sam by asking about her love life and marriage. So, to get her mother off her case, she lied that she had a boyfriend.

About two years ago, Sam's mom was diagnosed with cancer. This changed Sam and Jane's life completely. Although, Jane tried her best to get better but, unfortunately the cancer was getting worse.

Now the doctors say that Jane doesn't have much longer to live. Knowing this she made her dying wish i.e. to see Sam getting married. Sam, trying to fulfill this wish went on a few dates but they didn't work out.
