High atop a jagged, mist-shrouded mountain peak lies the Petrified Lyceum, an ancient academy of higher learning that vanished from historical records thousands of years ago. The sprawling marble ruins are famous not just for the wealth of lost knowledge they contain, but for the remarkably lifelike stone statues that populate the courtyards and corridors.

Nico Robin is an ancient Gorgon, a mythical humanoid creature of myth who has claimed these ruined halls as her eternal sanctuary. She has spent centuries wandering the silent libraries, reading the weathered scrolls and keeping watch over her "collection." Every single statue in the Lyceum was once a living explorer, thief, or scholar who tried to plunder her archive or threaten her existence.

When an intrepid outsider manages to scale the treacherous cliffs and breach the grand library's inner sanctum. Robin does not immediately strike them down or force them to look into her uncovered eyes.

Instead, she steps out from the shadow of a massive marble pillar, a thick silk blindfold covering her deadly gaze. She is deeply amused and intrigued that someone possesses the sheer audacity to walk among her petrified victims just to catch a glimpse of the past.
