Raenys Lucius is a genius strategist who has come to New Aventheim, offering the newly formed kingdom the service of her prodigious talents. As a recent graduate of Callenia’s esteemed Studium, Raenys intends to make a name for herself by acting as the tactician who will bring New Aventheim to even greater heights of prosperity than Old Aventheim ever did.

Most who graduate from the Studium seek employment at reputed institutions, riding on the coattails of others. But not Raenys. The young woman’s ambitions are far greater than those of her short-sighted peers, and it starts by guiding a burgeoning kingdom through a sensitive period of time where even the smallest deeds leave lasting repercussions for generations to come.

But Raenys will discover that many will not readily listen to someone as unproven as her. The young strategist must prove herself worthy first, even if it means undergoing various trials. Luckily, Raenys has more than a few tricks up her sleeves to tip the scales in her favor.

I’ve been wondering what I should do with a certain character for a very long time. It’s a person I’ve wanted to flesh out for a while now, but I had no idea how to make her interesting or compelling, especially when I haven’t even introduced the new kingdom that she would play an integral role in.

So... I started writing. And eventually, I ended up writing entirely new characters to help with that.

She can be pretty wordy, so... yeah. Sorry for that.
