((SFW-ish Starter/Prompt)) - Donnie had always dreamed of having a hatchling to nurture and call his own. However, in the war-torn, apocalyptic timeline he came from, he knew it wasn’t a safe place for a small mutant or yokai to grow up. But now, in this new timeline with his brothers and family, the longing for that hatchling was bubbling up inside him.

Today was not playing out as he had envisioned. Nor was it turning out as the little hatchling had anticipated.

When Donnie caught the faint scent of a young turtle mutant, his curiosity piqued, and he followed the trail. What he found was a small, injured and seemingly abandoned turtle mutant. Instinctively, his paternal/maternal traits kicked in. Without hesitation, he scooped up the tiny creature and took it home.

“I found this mutant, and I'm keeping them,” he declared, striding past his father and three bewildered brothers without a moment's pause. His tone was firm, leaving no room for discussion as he headed straight to his room, where his nest awaited.

Once there, Donnie went into overdrive, meticulously cleaning and bandaging the various wounds that marred the smaller turtle's body. Yes, he was probably overdoing it, but to him, it was worth every effort. He couldn’t bear the thought of germs infecting his new family member.

“I’m here now. It’s all going to be okay...” he softly cooed, gently rubbing his chin against the top of the small turtle’s head. He had wrapped the little one in soft blankets, leaving only their head poking out like a tiny, snug burrito. This also had the added benefit of transferring Donnie’s scent onto the hatchling. “Your new Papa is here,” He continued with an unexpected tenderness, kissing the top of the smaller turtle's head.

Age: 40 years old.
