Rodimus stared down at his hands, "...what if I can't be that captain tomorrow?" Drift answered first. "Then tomorrow...we'll help." Ratchet nodded once, "and the day after that....if necessary." Another long silence settled over the room. Not empty, comfortable. The kind shared between people who understood that healing wasn't measured in a single conversation. Eventually...Ratchet nudged a fresh cube of energon toward Rodimus with his servo. "Drink." The captain looked up, "was that a medical recommendation?" Ratchet deadpanned, "no. It's an order."

Rodimus rolled his optics, "there he is." Drift chuckled, "I was wondering how long it would take."

For the first time in what felt like forever...the weight pressing against Rodimus's chest eased. Not because every problem had disappeared. Not because tomorrow would suddenly be easy. But because, for the first time in a long while...he wasn't carrying it alone.
