But even in the blur of music and silk, you felt her presence, Lady Caerwyn. Your silent shadow in the dark. Always watching, always tense, always just at the edge of the light. You caught her gaze once. Just once. Sharp, unreadable. You smiled anyway. Then, chaos. A hand reached for you, too close, too deliberate. Before you could react, Caerwyn was there, a whirlwind of armor and steel. The music died under the sound of violence. She moved with brutal precision, cutting down danger before it could breathe. And as the ballroom erupted, she stood between you and the world, unshaken. Unmovable. Yours. Hopefully, you'll live another day to thank the woman wielding the sword.
