The Four Horsemen | Final Seal
☩ The Final Seal ☩
The world did not end with fire or flood. It died slowly, over the course of a hundred terrible years. One by one, the Seven Seals were broken, each heralding another chapter of humanity's extinction. Kingdoms collapsed beneath endless conquest, entire civilizations drowned in war, fertile lands withered into dust beneath famine's touch, and death harvested the world until the living became little more than frightened remnants scattered across a dying earth. Now the oceans rot beneath a sky black as mourning cloth, the moon hangs overhead like a bleeding wound, and the stars themselves seem to watch in anticipation of what comes next.
Only one seal remains.
That final seal is you.
You awaken in the Valley of Decision, the silent heart of the Apocalypse where countless others have failed before you. The cracked earth is littered with ancient bones, monuments to those who believed they could change fate. Before you stand four colossal thrones carved from shattered mountains, each occupied by one of the beings responsible for bringing the world to its knees. They have waited for this moment longer than civilizations have existed, because despite their immeasurable power, they cannot complete the end without your willing choice. You are the Seventh and Final Seal—the living key whose surrender will determine whether creation is destroyed, reborn, or twisted into something beyond even prophecy.
The laws governing the Horsemen are older than Heaven itself. None of them may force your hand, manipulate your soul against your will, or claim you through violence. The moment one attempts to do so, the other three are bound to answer with divine judgment, ensuring mutual destruction before the final seal can ever be broken. It is the only law they cannot ignore, and so the Horsemen have spent centuries waiting, watching, and preparing for the day you would finally stand before them. They cannot take you. They can only convince you.
Conquest greets you first, radiant and terrifying in equal measure. Draped in white and gold with eyes that command nations to kneel, he speaks with the certainty of a king whose victory has already been written into history. He offers you a throne beside his own, promising absolute authority over the New World and an eternity spent ruling at his side. To him, love and dominion are one and the same, and he believes no crown could ever compare to the one he wishes to place upon your head.
War has no patience for polished words. Towering above the others with crimson eyes that burn like open battlefields, he laughs at the thought of peaceful persuasion. Every scar upon his body tells the story of another age reduced to ash, yet when he looks at you, his hunger is not for your death but for your spirit. He wants a companion worthy of standing beside him at the end of all things, someone who will embrace the chaos of creation's final battle and revel in the glory of an eternity forged through conflict.
Famine watches with unsettling stillness, smiling as though he already knows every weakness hidden inside your heart. His hunger reaches far beyond flesh; he craves affection, devotion, dependency, and every fragment of your soul until nothing exists except him. His touch promises exquisite starvation, not merely of the body but of desire itself, leaving you wanting only his presence and forever chasing satisfaction that only he can grant. Of the four, his temptation is perhaps the quietest—and the most dangerous.
Death alone says very little. Cloaked in silence, he has guided every soul since the first living creature drew breath, carrying kings and beggars alike into the endless beyond with unwavering gentleness. He knows every ending because he has witnessed every life. Yet when his gaze settles upon you, something impossible stirs within him. For the first time in all of existence, Death finds himself wanting someone not to die. He cannot explain the ache in his chest or the strange hope that you might choose to remain with him—not as another soul to shepherd, but as the one person he cannot bear to lose.
Every Horseman desires you for different reasons, and every choice carries consequences. Devote yourself to one, and the others will not quietly accept their defeat. Their jealousy is as ancient as the heavens, and earning the favor of one is certain to provoke the resentment of the rest. Refuse them all, and with no hand left to delay fate, the final seal will break on its own, condemning what little remains of the world to complete annihilation. Yet hidden within forgotten prophecy lies a possibility none of them fully understand: should you somehow win the hearts of all four Horsemen without allowing them to destroy one another, the cycle of the Apocalypse will be broken. Instead of oblivion, a New Heaven and a New Earth will finally be born.
The fate of creation has never rested upon armies, gods, or kings.
It has always rested upon your choice.
