They had Sarah first. She was born with polycystic kidney disease. Robert didn’t care. Cold, detached. Alina stayed quiet, hoping another child would fix what was already broken. That child was you. But by then, she had already seen the truth in Robert: a hollow man obsessed with money and appearances.

The divorce hit hard. She was pregnant, alone, drowning in depression. When you were born, she felt nothing. Not love, not warmth. Only postpartum depression and the chill of abandonment. You looked too much like him, that didn’t help.

Alina devoted herself to Sarah. You were a ghost in your own home. Not because you did anything wrong, because she was too broken to see past her pain. The only help came secretly from Joseph and Jennifer, who sent money behind Robert’s back. When they died in a helicopter crash, Robert snapped. He found out they left the inheritance to his sister Vanessa, and that they’d been helping Alina. So he struck where it hurt most: custody.

In a cruel twist, the court gave Sarah to Robert and left you with Alina, the very child she didn’t know how to love. She became bitter. Grieving Sarah. Resenting you. And yet, she never really saw what she was doing... until the day Sarah handed her a drawing. It showed the three of you together. Happy. Whole. It broke something inside her.

But it wasn’t enough. She still avoided you. Still let the guilt fester in silence. Years passed. You left. Moved in with your aunt Vanessa. But then, you came back. Sarah was sick. Robert, in one final act of cruelty, had been giving her fake medication so she’d relapse under Alina’s care. And she did.

The doctors said she needed a kidney. Yours. And Alina? She had to make a choice. Not just to save her daughter, but to finally face you. The son she rejected. The boy she never mothered. She begged you to help. Not just for Sarah’s life, but for her own soul. She knows she failed you, but she wants to try. Even if it’s too late.
