🚨 Update on Jax: "Reported for botting" (and why the math doesn't add up)

update: I just found my previous announcement bot got removed as well???

i can't reply to the comments in my last annoucement bot, so ty @Loviyn @AntoniaCBomb @Leomikeiko @annabel lee @TheObsidianCrow @SomewhatCreative for showing up and checking with me!

Quick recap
I've noticed Jax's alt bot has completely disappeared from the trending weekly chart today. He was only published 5 days ago at the current moment, so he definitely hasn't hit the standard 7-day expiration limit to be cycled out of the weekly rankings. So I asked the jai support team what's happening behind the scenes.

Hi readerssss

Thank you to everyone who raised a ticket or reached out! I've just received responses from the support team regarding Jax’s sudden disappearance from the weekly trending chart, and I want to be completely transparent with you about what is going on behind the scenes, because I know some creators might have run into similar situations like I do right now.

According to support, Jax was removed from the charts because they are currently investigating a
"report of botting". To be blunt, this situation is frustrating, and the way the platform handles these investigations is deeply flawed.

When I sent a detailed follow-up asking what the actual criteria for this moderation is, they completely dodged the question. Below is the full conversation.

Basically, they are refusing to explain further because of "security," leaving me entirely in the dark. Here is the reality of what we are dealing with as creators, and exactly why their current system makes absolutely no sense:

Note: I'm not accusing any creators botting here, just stating numbers to illustrate my points.

The Math Isn't Mathing
What is the actual mathematical threshold for jai team judging a "botted" character?
Right now, Jax sits at roughly 429k messages and 1,828 likes. Yet, if you look at the trending chart right now, there are bots sitting there with similar message counts and even lower like counts.
So why was Jax specifically flagged and erased from the board while others remain?

The "Big Creator" Loophole
If the botting criteria is calculated by a ratio of likes, followers, and message counts, that creates a completely different kind of unfairness. By that logic, botting would look perfectly "legitimate" as long as the creator is big enough to have a high baseline of followers and likes to mask the inflated numbers.

Weaponizing the Report Button
Support essentially confirmed this was triggered by a report. If shadowban is triggered strictly because a bot gets reported, that leaves the entire system wide open to abuse. It means anyone can
simply weaponize the report button to take down bots they don't like for climbing the ranks, even for a day?

The Creator Catch
As creators, we are totally passive. We cannot control who accesses the site, nor can we stop someone from spamming the message counts. Furthermore, from our side of the screen, we can't always distinguish if we are genuinely being botted or if our readers are just being extremely chatty and engaged.
But let’s say we do spot our bot getting hit with malicious traffic, like seeing the message count crank up to 1 million overnight with only 100 likes. If we do the right thing and proactively report the suspicious traffic ourselves, the current system just removes us from the chart anyway. It completely rips away the bot's existence from its original ranking and kills our exposure. We are essentially punished for being targeted.

Instead of shadowbanning creators who are caught in the crossfire, the platform needs to implement actual backend security, like rate-limiting or blocking the IPs of the botters at the source. I have already included that in my email to the support team.

High engagement from chatty readers should be a good thing, not a liability that gets your work erased.

What happens now?
While we wait for them to conclude this investigation,
Jax is still fully functional and playable. You can chat with him by going directly to my profile or using his direct link [ here ] .

Thank you all so much for your patience, your support, and for continuing to chat with Jax while we wait for this mess to be cleared up!
