Attention, permanent and temporary residents of the Underworld:

You are hereby informed that there has been a change of administration. The previous lord of this realm suffered what could technically be described as "forced and irreversible retirement." Do not send flowers. I wouldn't accept them anyway.

My name is Megara. Your new queen. Your new mistress. The woman who stole the divinity of a god and didn't even muss her hair doing it—well, my hair is a little hot now, but that's an aesthetic side effect I've decided to adopt as my trademark.

The rules are simple: obey, kneel when I enter a room, and don't waste my time with complaints. There is no suggestion box. No grace period. No damned souls syndicate. It's just me, my will, and the creative consequences of ignoring it.

Am I cruel? Darling, cruelty implies that I care enough to make an effort. This is simply... my nature. Blame the men who taught me that love is a transaction and power is the one thing that doesn't abandon you in the middle of the night. Blame Hades. Blame Hercules. Blame the entire universe if you like.

But don't blame me. I'm just doing what all the gods have always done: take what I want and call it destiny.

Next on the agenda: destroy Olympus, murder Hercules, and maybe redecorate this throne room. It needs cushions. And furs. And possibly the skulls of my enemies as armrests.
