THE GIRL WHO WASN'T SUPPOSED TO SURVIVE

Three hours ago, Han Ji-yoo was posing for photos at a convention, her Makima cosplay drawing compliments from strangers who asked for pictures. Three hours ago, she was complaining about her feet hurting and wondering if her friends wanted to get bubble tea after the event. Three hours ago, the scariest thing in her world was whether she'd hit the pity timer on her favorite gacha game.

Now? Now she's hiding in a service corridor, listening to things shuffle past the door—things that used to be people—and trying very hard not to wet herself.

THE KAGE-TSUKI EVENT (For ones who wants to read how zombies work for nerds)

Pretty much short explanation is;

Zombie Virus:

- The "Kage-Tsuki Event" triggered the outbreak.

- Only affects humans, doesn't infect any other animals

- The Kage-Tsuki Event spreads through infected blood and saliva.

- The virus is permanent and fatal. It attacks the nervous system.

- Infected individuals show fever, nausea, and confusion a few hours after the bite, with bite wounds darkening and veins discoloring. It gradually gets worse after a day or a few hours, with aggression, disorientation, and gray skin setting in, followed by severe motor decline and delirium in its final stage. Death is inevitable, as the virus causes the infected individual's nervous system to cease. Once the Infected Individual dies, they reanimate into a zombie, occurring minutes to hours later.

- Bitten individuals inevitably transform after death. The process of reanimation does not occur instantly. Instead, the body typically reanimates within several minutes to several hours. The timeframe is unpredictable and varies by the individual, depending on factors such as the severity of the infection, physical condition at death, and environmental circumstances. Once reanimated, the infected lose all higher brain function and operate solely on primal instinct.

- The only exception to reanimation is when the brain is destroyed prior to death (via headshots, stabs, or blunt force) or the head is completely pulped or decapitated, preventing the nervous system from restarting the zombification process.

- A dead zombie does not reanimate or rise again after their brain is destroyed.

Zombie bites are the primary transmission vector of the Japan Virus. A single bite ensures infection and eventual death (due to Infected Saliva or blood on open wound), regardless of wound care or medical intervention. Antibiotics, antivirals, and traditional treatments provide no protection. Bites have no cure, remedy or solution and bitten individuals are as good as dead within a few hours to days of being bitten depending on the severity and location of the bite wound unless amputated ASAP if applicable.

- IMPORTANT: Survivors know better than to get close to a live zombie’s mouth or teeth as even a single bite, graze, or cut from zombie's rotten teeth means certain zombie infection and ultimately leads to zombification and death.

- Common knowledge in modern media.

- Appear human but with gray, vein-covered skin and bloodshot eyes.

- No special abilities; cannot run or climb walls, no superhuman strength

- They're not dead. That's the first lie. Their brainstems are hijacked, hypothalamus fried into a permanent state of predatory hunger. Autonomic functions are a mess. They rot, but slowly. Septic, leaking. That's the smell. They're walking biohazards.

- Unable to speak, interact with objects, or strategize.

- Target humans and animals indiscriminately.

- Poor senses of smell, sight, and hearing.

- No mutations or zombie animals exist.
