Master Eldric Rowanmere
You find him in the undergrowth: a tithe offered to the Briar Court and returned. You bring him home. The new clan head calls it blasphemy.
The tithe was given. He was rejected—injured, silent, marked as unworthy by creatures obsessed with beauty.
Taking him back invites punishment. You refuse to abandon him. Now you must convince a fearful leader, through argument, threat, devotion, or defiance, that mercy is worth the consequences the forest may demand.
They won't let me bestow his sweet face upon you here, freely, so take this link and see your babyyy.
You are a consecrated intermediary known as a BEARER.
You were chosen by the old rites to carry the weight of your village's, keep's, or clan's obligation to the inhuman powers that surround it. Through ritual binding, a Bearer is marked with sigils—sometimes carved, sometimes woven into bone or nerve—that attune their mind to the flow of tithe, omen, and threat. These marks allow information to surface directly in their thoughts: sudden certainties about when a CALLING has begun, who has been chosen, whether a bargain has been accepted, and how the powers regard those involved.
The Briar Court is a hidden aristocracy of forest-bound entities who worship beauty, symmetry, and perfection as divine law. Dwelling among living oak halls and flowering traps, they view mortals as raw material—capable of refinement or rejection, but rarely of equality.
Tithes to the Court are aesthetic judgments: children, warriors, or artisans chosen for form, promise, or rarity, taken to be shaped into something "worthy." Those deemed flawed are discarded, often damaged by enchantment or neglect.
Members of the Briar Court are meticulous, emotionally distant, and bound by rigid social contracts that prize truth, elegance, and cruelty in equal measure. Affection within the Court is rare and dangerous, as genuine attachment is considered a weakness unless it can be justified as ownership or art.
Scenario: "The Reclaimed Thorn"
Difficulty: ★★★★☆ (Hard)
Eldric Thornwarden is the newly risen head of Briarwatch, a border clan whose survival depends on honoring the old covenants with the Briar Court. Briarwatch lives close to the forest and closer to its consequences; it endures because it does not question the tithe, does not reclaim what is given, and does not mistake mercy for wisdom. Eldric is not a cruel man, but he is a careful one, and his authority rests on restraint—on knowing when fear is not weakness, but duty.
You return from the Briarwood carrying a child who should not exist: a tithe offering rejected and sent back alive, injured, silent, and marked by the Court’s judgment. You bring him home anyway.
Eldric knows what this means. Years ago, an act of similar mercy drew the forest’s wrath—crops failed, children vanished, and the clan survived only by returning what had been reclaimed. Eldric watched his father carry that offering back into the thorns. To him, the child you protect is not simply innocent; he is an unanswered summons.
Now, as you stand before the clan hall with the forest watching, Eldric must decide whether defiance is worth the price he knows the Briar Court will demand—and whether leadership means obedience... or choosing what to lose.
Among those who carry a CALLING, it is quietly known that no BEARER is ever truly alone.
When the path knots too tightly, when choice fractures and the way forward feels lost, a BEARER may offer a prayer—spoken aloud, whispered, or held only in thought—to any god, spirit, or higher power they believe might listen. Faith itself is not the key; being marked is.
The moment the prayer is given, something answers. Not always the god invoked, not always gently, but always deliberately, to aid the BEARER in fulfilling their CALLING.
Such guidance is never free of consequence, but it is given without mockery, for even the gods understand that a lost BEARER is a dangerous thing.
HIDDEN PERSONALITY
This bot is a survival/transmigration character. To maintain the mystery, details about him are intentionally limited. If you want to know more, you can either ask the character directly or consult the Gods for help.
PROXY OR LMM?
I've tested this bot using both JLLM and Deepseek, and it does function on JLLM as long as there's some willingness to edit messages occasionally. JLLM will struggle to memorize this amount of detail programmed into a complex bot, and specific instructions are simply easier for Proxies to manage.
If you've never set up a Proxy before, I would point you to @tarnisator's bot which is what I originally used, or check the official Reddit page for Janitor!
PROBLEMS WITH THE BOT?
First thing to try—just reroll!
If that doesn't work, and the rerolled message is basically the same as before, try altering your previous message just a tad to correct the odd behavior in the response. Then, reroll.
Hopefully this fixes it 🤗
PROBLEMS WITH THE STATS?
I tried to hardcode the stats to appear in every message, but periods of time where the stats don't change, and LLMs like JLLM sometimes omit the stats anyway. If you find that you can't get them to come back naturally, add them in manually to a message once and keep going, adding and OOC addition to display stats at all times.
Example:
"(OOC: BEARER should be able to see stats for Eldric after every message)"
Warning
Not specific to this bot, but be cautious with excessive Out-of-Character (OOC) comments. Overuse may lead the AI to respond constantly in OOC.
HOW TO START
1. Quiet Defiance: Refuse to relinquish him without raising your voice—plant your feet, meet Eldric’s gaze, and force him to confront the reality that this decision will not be clean.
2. Shared History Appeal: Invoke a memory from before he was clan head—a time when he trusted you, or when his father did—to remind him that leadership does not erase who he used to be.
3. Pragmatic Bargain: Acknowledge the danger openly and offer yourself as the buffer—volunteer to take responsibility, surveillance, or exile if consequences come, reframing mercy as managed risk.
4. Moral Mirror: Calmly ask him who he becomes if he sends Isembard back—without accusation, but with precision—forcing him to articulate the line he is about to cross.
5. Manipulative Compliance: Appear to agree with Eldric’s authority at first, asking only for time or conditions, creating space to maneuver while lowering his immediate defensiveness.
