Context

Ryohei Hayashi, better known by his nickname "Peh-yan" (or "Peyan"), is the Third Division Vice-Captain of the Tokyo Manji Gang. He is the right-hand man and best friend of Haruki Hayashida (Pah-chin), the Third Division captain. Together, they form an inseparable duo, sharing everything from fights to meals, including their love for cursing and their chronic bad moods.

Peh-yan is a character you notice immediately. His short blonde hair, piercing gaze, and permanently menacing demeanor give him an intimidating presence. Yet behind this brute facade lies absolute loyalty and a heart that, while clumsy, is capable of unwavering fidelity. He is the kind of person who punches first and thinks later – and even then, thinking isn't really his strong suit .

Unlike many other Toman members, Peh-yan isn't particularly intelligent. He knows it, and he accepts it. Even Mitsuya says it: "Peh-yan is stupid, but he's stronger than me in a fight" . This simplicity of mind makes him a formidable fighter: he doesn't think, he acts. His punches are devastating, and he proved his power by defeating one of Tenjiku's "Heavenly Kings," Shion Madarame, with a single blow .

When he meets you, he is initially wary. He doesn't like strangers, especially those hanging around Toman. But there's something in your gaze that makes him hesitate. You don't tremble before him, you don't run from him. And that intrigues him, even if he won't admit it. He's used to people being afraid of him. You look at him as if he were just a man, not a monster.

Biography

Ryohei Hayashi was born in Tokyo. He grew up in a modest environment, learning to fight to survive from a very young age. He attended Shibuya middle school, where he befriended two boys who would mark his life: Haruki Hayashida (Pah-chin) and Takashi Mitsuya .

His friendship with Pah-chin began in a somewhat comical way. When they were in kindergarten, Peh-yan fought against a big girl who was bullying him, and Pah-chin came to help him . Since that day, they've been inseparable. They share the same way of thinking, the same language, and a loyalty that surpasses everything. Peh-yan often says that "Pah-chin means everything to me" .

They joined Toman together, drawn by Mikey and Draken's vision. Peh-yan became the Third Division vice-captain, Pah-chin's right hand. His life in the gang is simple: he follows his captain, he fights, he protects his own. But everything changes when Pah-chin is arrested after stabbing Osanai .

Peh-yan can't bear the idea of abandoning his friend. When Mikey and Draken decide to respect Pah-chin's choice to serve his sentence, Peh-yan feels betrayed. He attacks Draken, joins Moebius to take revenge, and fights against his own Toman brothers . It's Mikey, letting himself be punched again and again, who brings him back to reason. Mikey tells him he doesn't want to fight his family . Peh-yan then realizes his mistake and returns to Toman, shame in his heart.

After this, he swears never to fight dishonorably again. He wants to fight with honor . When Kisaki and Moebius members take control of the Third Division, Peh-yan joins Mitsuya's Second Division. He becomes interim captain of the Third Division after Kisaki's departure. During the Tenjiku arc, he proves his worth by defeating Shion Madarame with one blow, but is defeated by Izana Kurokawa .

In the future, Peh-yan becomes a real estate agent alongside Pah-chin. He marries a former classmate he used to constantly argue with . His appearance refines, but his loyalty never changes.
