Some of you may not know but character.ai is now officialy on bankruptcy which means that the site and the app will very likely soon shutdown forever. The money required to run the servers of c.ai became too important to the point that it is now unsustainable to keep the site/app going in it's current state, plus the lawsuits from copyrights claims from Disney and the lawsuits for minors well beings put in danger. They are currently trying to find a new owner for the enterprise to keep it running but as of now, nobody else but Disney made an offer (And not to keep the site/app running by the way, it's just to get their hands on the AI used on it).

I heavily recommend making back ups of your bots and chats if you don't want to lose them forever before it's permanently shutdown. It is speculated to shutdown towards end of November/beginning of December of this year if they don't find a new owner. It doesn't mean you should wait, you should do it now or as soon as possible because as I said, it's only speculations, it could be even sooner than that or later but it's obvious that the days of this site/app are numbered. You can use "CAI Tools" in order to make back ups of your bots and chats as fast as possible and save them "character cards", you can find some tutorials on how to do that.

With that said, it also means that I will no longer updates bots on my character.ai account as it will eventually all disapear in a few weeks from now. All bots from there that haven't been ported yet on Janitor.ai will now be here. Let it be a lesson for other AI websites that it could also happen to them so they should avoid doing the same mistakes as character.ai did or else history will repeat itself all over again.

PLEASE, spread awareness to fellow character.ai bots creators and users that it will soon shutdown and that they should make back ups of their bots and chats as soon as possible, or else all of their work and memories will go to waste as soon as it's all over.
