my advice, because no one asked but i feel like some people need to hear this anyway

there’s no right or wrong way to make bots--actually, lemme correct myself. there’s one wrong thing: writing for {{user}} in the intro message. don’t decide their actions, thoughts, or dialogue for them.

apart from that? there is no right or wrong way to write bots.

write what you desire. write what gives you joy. and please, for the love of everything good: the metrics.

i know that probably sounds hypocritical coming from a bigger creator, but i promise you, if you constantly write for the audience instead of yourself, you’re only going to make yourself unhappy in the long run.

wanna write a short intro? go ahead.

wanna write a ridiculously long intro because you suddenly feel like a novelist? yeah, babe. do it.

some of my intros barely reach 500 tokens. other times i apparently get possessed by the spirit of a storyteller and dish out 2.5k+ tokens. both are fine. none of them is lesser.

i feel like a lot of people treat bot making as though there’s some hidden formula for doing it “correctly.” getting invested in a creative project, taking your time to write it and posting--that's what matters. there isn’t some secret hack. try some stuff, experiment, write something self-indulgent. put your ideas out there because you love them.

you’ll learn what works for you along the way.

II. DISCORD SERVER & QNA

as some of u may know, i have a public discord server that i share with my precious hime, as well as a separate server for my members.

i get asked a lot of questions about my content--lore, character reactions, scenarios, little details, all that stuff. over time, that’s turned into a pretty huge archive of answered q&a in my member server, plus an ongoing channel where i regularly answer new questions.

sooo, i’ve decided to open the member server up to everyone. BUT! the server itself is still membership exclusive. non-members will only have access to the q&a archive, st cards & lorebooks channels, so u can read through everything that’s already been shared there.

the rest of the server will stay locked behind verification, which requires proof of age + proof of an active membership. verified members will still have access to the full server and can submit new questions for me to answer.

basically: everyone gets to lurk and read the lore. members still get the full experience.

please do me a favor and don't try to verify unless you're eligible for verification.

just some stuff i wanna address:

i originally planned to start posting my book on wattpad, but with the recent tos changes, i’m not entirely sure about that anymore. chances are i’ll end up uploading it on ao3 instead. bonus: no cover stress lmao. i gotta stop my perfectionistic ass from editing my drafts all the time and get to posting tbh

the domain for my shop has also changed. don’t panic, it’s still the exact same shop with the same memberships and items. it still runs through a separate platform, so none of your payment information ever reaches my site. i only receive the purchase confirmations.

also, some of my older items have been reduced in price until i get around to revamping them. they just don’t really reflect my current writing standards anymore, y’know?

i also just wanna take a moment to express my gratitude to everyone. we're at over 116k of you rn and it's genuinely still so insane to me.

i know i don't answer to comments much. which is basically bc my social battery runs on fumes most of the times. but i promise i read every single one of them and they mean a lot to me. making me sit behind the screen kicking my feet twirling my hair n all.

thanks for showing my ideas sm love, for being invested in my lore and for being with me. y'all gave me the courage to write my brain children down. hell, i never thought i'd get the courage to start working in a whole ass book but look at me now.
